About the Role

We’re hiring a Fractional Sales Development Representative (SDR) to drive top-of-funnel growth through structured outbound prospecting. You’ll identify potential clients, craft personalized outreach, and connect with founders and operators who fit our ideal customer profile.

This is a fractional contractor role (approximately 15–25 hours per week) — ideal for someone who’s experienced in outbound outreach and can deliver consistent results with autonomy. You’ll work directly with our leadership and marketing teams to refine targeting, messaging, and performance.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Identify growing startups and small businesses that would benefit from Function’s financial management platform.
  • Prospect founders and finance leaders through targeted outbound outreach.
  • Craft and send concise, compelling outreach messages that align Function’s services with each prospect’s needs.
  • Navigate conversations to uncover challenges, pain points, and timing — positioning Function as a valuable solution.
  • Maintain clean and accurate activity logs and contact data within HubSpot CRM.
  • Meet daily and weekly KPIs across multiple touchpoints (email, phone, LinkedIn).
  • Follow up with prospects to confirm appointments and ensure a smooth handoff to the Account Executive or leadership team.
  • Share insights from conversations that can inform broader sales or marketing initiatives.

A Little About You

  • Demonstrated skill in communicating clearly and persuasively with senior-level executives.
  • The ability to assess prospects’ needs, personalize outreach, and identify high-probability opportunities.
  • Experience creating and maintaining a structured prospecting plan that drives results.
  • Curiosity about market trends, customer pain points, and emerging tools that improve outreach performance.
  • Experience with go-to-market technologies like HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, or ZoomInfo.
  • Adaptability and a proactive mindset — you stay organized, follow up relentlessly, and find creative ways to start meaningful conversations.
  • Experience in sales, business development, or customer engagement roles (hospitality, SaaS, fintech, or consulting).
  • A genuine desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a fast-moving environment.
