About the Role
We’re looking for a Fractional CFO to partner with our growing portfolio of clients — guiding founders through financial strategy, forecasting, capital planning, and business performance. You’ll work directly with founders and leadership teams, helping them understand their numbers, make data-driven decisions, and plan for what’s next.
This is a fractional role — ideal for experienced finance professionals who want to expand their client base while partnering with Function. You’ll have the opportunity to build your business within your region while leveraging Function’s integrated platform, resources, and support network.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the financial foundation of high-growth startups and scaling businesses — advising on everything from budgeting and forecasting to capital efficiency and cash flow management.
What You Will Be Doing
- Partner with founders and leadership teams to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
- Provide insight and guidance on cash flow management, capital structure, and investment planning.
- Support clients with fundraising efforts, including investor reporting and board materials.
- Oversee accounting and reporting accuracy through collaboration with Function’s bookkeeping and tax teams.
- Analyze key metrics, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights that drive smarter decisions.
- Advise on pricing strategies, cost optimization, and growth planning.
- Support due diligence, valuations, and scenario modeling for strategic decisions.
- Leverage automation and analytics tools to improve efficiency and visibility across financial processes.
A Little About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including 5+ years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role.
- Proven experience supporting multiple clients or business units, ideally in a fractional or consulting capacity.
- Strong command of forecasting, cash flow modeling, and strategic planning.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, and financial modeling tools; familiarity with automation and reporting software (e.g., Karbon, NetSuite, Syft) is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills — able to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.
